These blocks were kinda flimsy to start with, (especially compared to the garhauer 60's I replaced them with) the corrosion made failure a question of when rather than if.]]></description>

THe grinder tore through the old paint like nuthin :)  The areas around the screws were a little tougher, I finally had to get those with a Dremel.]]></description>

I was only able to remove 2 screws, out of about 12.  The remaining ones were so corodded they broke, and had to be poped out with a hammer and a punch.]]></description>

I chose to cut them after seeing a similar modification on another 424. This allows direct access to the underside of the traveller and also makes a handy albeit small storage area.]]></description>
