This is one of the original blocks on the boom. the discolored areas on the left are actually pretty severe pits that went almost all the way through thte aliminium. Taking off the old paint proved difficult at first, then I found a plastic wheel specifically for stripping paint for my grinder. Here's the other side, you can also see there's been some galvanic corrosion where the stainless sheave was located. I was only able to remove 2 screws, out of about 12. In order to get to the bolts attaching the traveller, you either have to remove the ceiling panels, then remove the traveller supports, OR you can cut into the supports. I chose to cut them after seeing a similar modification on another 424.
